Things To Consider Before Hiring A Personal Organizer

Hiring a professional organizer can be very advantageous for getting organized, however many things should be considered before doing so.

Check out my latest book and bust through that procrastination! Available as a paperback and an ebook on Kindle but NO KINDLE NECESSARY. Enjoy!

Things To Consider...

Are you willing to change old habits? Are you willing to implement new ones?

What is your budget?

What is your schedule?

How well do you work with others?

Are you willing to let go of items?

Are you open to trying new things?

Do you want a change? Are you ready for it? How easily can you handle change?

Do other people live in your house? Are they ready for change?

Hiring A Professional Organizer Is Good For...

Getting Organized. Personal organizers are experts on how to get organized.

Saving Time. Being organized means you can find things faster and do things more efficiently.

Saving Money. You know how you couldn't find that thing that you knew you already bought, so you had to go out and purchase it again? Being organized eliminates that.

An Objective View. Since they're on the outside looking in, so to speak, organizers can see the bigger picture and offer interesting solutions.

A Nonjudgmental Opinion. Organizers have seen it all and understand the intensity and emotion that comes with clutter. Remember, a life organizer is there to help you, not to criticize you.

Following Through. You know when you try to organize something and get stuck in the process? A professional organizer will lead you through the project to the very end.

Learning Organization. Doing hands on work with an organizer is a great way to learn the how of getting organized and how to organize your home.

Teaching Organization. Take what you learn from your hands-on sessions with an organizer and pass it on to friends and family members. They'll be grateful!

Consider What Kind Of Organizing Help You Need...

Like with any professional, an organizer can have an area of focus that he or she specializes in. There are all kinds of organizers out there!

There are those that work in homes, the ones that like offices and paper, some that specialize in hoarding, others that focus on students and learning disabilities, and the list goes on.

The first thing to do is establish why you think you need an organizer and then do your research accordingly. For example, if the mess in your kitchen is causing you to pull your hair out, then you might need a residential personal organizer. If your office is nothing but dusty piles of paper, you might need an office organizer. If you need help managing your upcoming move, then you might need an organizer that specializes in moving and so on.

Personal organizers are an investment (almost always a good one) and you want the whole experience to be successful, so do some research, call and compare organizers in your area, and utilize the information on this page.

Happy Hunting!
